The winner of this year’s Science slam, where researchers compete in the art of presenting to an audience in three minutes, was Jenna Najar, a doctoral student in AgeCap. Her group has shown that people who sing, perform, visit museums and in other ways activate their brain, at group level have increased resistance to dementia. Jenna took the stage to the tunes of Memory from Cats, and illustrated, assisted by colleagues, how the cognitive reserve, which appears to be enhanced by these activities.
