The International Eklund Foundation has granted contributions to two projects, one of which goes to researchers at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, USA. The other is granted to Jan Derks, Senior Lecturer at University of Gothenburg. Derks receives SEK 930,000 for his project: a registry study in collaboration with Tord Berglundh. The study is expected to contribute valuable knowledge about the potentially bi-directional relationship between periodontitis, peri-implantatitis and diabetes.
Eklund Foundation focuses on periodontology, implantology and cariology. The foundation was established in connection with the 50th anniversary of TePe Munhygienprodukter AB, through a donation by its former CEO Bertil Eklund.
