Professor Agnes Wold has been appointed Professional Woman of the Year by the association BPW Sweden. Thereby she joins a list that already includes, among others, Gudrun Sjödén, Maud Olofsson and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria.
Agnes Wold has shaken the scientific community. She has busted myths about, among other things, breastfeeding, dust bunnies and how much water we should drink each day. Her passion and drive of injustice especially when it comes to treatment of women’s skills in academia has led both to defamation, threats and dismissal. It has not stopped her to highlight the inconvenient facts.
“Agnes Wold, Professor of Clinical Bacteriology and consultant at Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothneburg, is a worthy winner of the award Professional Woman of the Year”, says Erika Braun, Chair of the BPW Sweden.
