We at Sahlgrenska Cancer Center are proud to present the very first Gothenburg Cancer Meeting. The conference will take place between the 6th - 7th of May 2019 at the Wallenberg Conference Centre.
A first deadline for registration and abstract submission is 2019-01-31!
Are you working with cancer research today? Or perhaps you are just interested in the latest Swedish west coast discoveries within the field? Then you are welcome to attend the very first Gothenburg Cancer Meeting!
The conference is organized by Sahlgrenska Cancer Center at the Sahlgrenska Academy (University of Gothenburg), in collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
The purpose of this first Gothenburg Cancer Meeting is to create a venue for interaction between Gothenburg researchers, who are working with a wide array of approaches to cancer. The speakers come from various disciplines, including basic research and translational research. Various types of clinical research is included as well, such as clinical trials on drugs and quality of life research. They have all been selected by recognition as well as by investigating the large list of researchers in Gothenburg, who has funding from Cancerfonden.
The conference will start with state of the art topics within cancer research and will include presentations from senior Cancerfonden investigators as well. In the two day program you will also find parallel workshops with focus on areas such as tumor immunology and biology, radiotherapy, breast cancer, hematological and pediatric malignancies, clinical trials, biomarkers and screening.
The first day will end with a poster session where you have a chance to present your own cancer related research or mingle with other local cancer researchers. The second day of the conference will end with a panel discussion about cancer research in Gothenburg, with prominent representatives from GU and SU leadership (including the Dean of Sahlgrenska Academy and the Director of Sahlgrenska University Hospital). You are then invited to a closing conference dinner!
The meeting is free of charge and registration will be in the form of first come first serve! Sounds interesting? Then please go to ”Conference Registration” on this page. Abstract submissions are done together with the registration. Please make sure to read the abstract instructions first!
